SENIOR CONFERENCE, ZONE CONFERENCES AND MISC STUFF

Just a weird McDonalds menu item.  The pineapple is not bad, but a corn pie?  Corn is really big here, it is on ice cream, donuts, cakes...you get the picture. 

 We went to 5 zone conference's.  Here is a few of my favorite pictures.

  Sorry, the next two are not zone conference pictures either!  This is Sister Aun.  We met her when we went to the Mercy Center.  She was volunteering there and she speaks very good English.  She helped me communicate with the little kids there and we talked quite a bit after.  She was interested in the church, visited with the Elders and took the discussions.  She was baptized on July 12. She is awesome!

Oops, dinner at our apartment with our district.  Elder Mitchell on the far left returned home last Friday and Elder Hixson on the far right was transferred to Thonburi. 
We love this group of young missionaries.

I stink at blogging....but, this is a picture of my new favorite snack from 7-11.  I call them coconut fries.  I will be bringing some of these home with me!

Random Happenings

This is a Korean salon where I got my hair cut a few weeks ago.  To say there was a language barrier is an understatement.  between my English, Elder Grange's Thai and her Korean, well, lets just say my haircut was interesting and very short.  I think the contraption in the foreground is electric curlers...

 This is the kind of fish that is just there in the middle of the aisle of the local supermarket.  I just have to hold my breath and avert my eyes.

On a Saturday Morning walk, we wound our way through random sois.

After wandering the streets for a few hours we were happy to see our building with the big blue wave on it!

Elder Day will is now serving in Myanmar.  Love him!

Sister Kampan and I had the
same idea as we dressed for the day.  She is a Thai from the Asoke branch serving temporarily in our mission while she waits for her visa to the US.  She will serve in the Utah Salt Lake City Temple Square Mission

On our way to Father Joes Mercy Center we went down some pretty narrow Soi's. 

The Mercy Center is in the Slauterhouse neighborhood, one of the poorest slums in Bangkok, Father Joe runs this amazing place that houses many orphans, I think around 150.  And then also offers free school to the children of the neighborhood.  We "helped" in a pre- school though I think we may have been more of a distraction.  We loved the sweet kids there.

Fathers Day Dinner and Fun with the Senior Couples.  We are so blessed to have these amazing people to serve with.

This is the Rotee Lady.  A Rotee is a crepe that you can put many things in.  The best is bananas and nutella.
