Family "Thais"

I thought I posted this in February, but just found it in drafts....what is it doing there?
Anyway, the pictures are all out of order, but hey, they are there!
Spencer and Erin came for a visit, so did Cousin Mary Beth and Vijay.
We had so much fun!! Here are a few pictures to prove it.

Zip line in Chiang Mai "Flight of the Gibbons.  We even saw one! A Gibbon.Ordinary street monkey in Lopburi pulling a peanut out of Elder Granges ear.

Dressed in our elephant riding clothes at Banchang Elephant Paradise, sorry I could not figure out how to get the pictures off their face book page and onto this.  We rode a huge elephant named Christina Aguilera.

Our names in Thai so our guide would remember our names.

COMINGS AND GOINGS

Dinner with some wonderful missionaries in
Roi-Et.

Everyone's favorite, Mango sticky rice!
We found a beautiful, green, botanic garden paradise just outside of Bangkok in Samut Prakaan.  We rented (super nice) bikes for 30 baht an hour and biked the trails for a while.  It was a lovely break from the concrete jungle that is Bangkok.  It was also about 100* and really high humidity, so a little hot and sticky, the air conditioned car felt really nice when we were done.

On the drive out of the park we found this happy Hindu elephant god that goes by the name of Ganesh.
Back to Roi-Et, we stayed in the most expensive hotel in Roi-Et, about 700 baht or $20.00 USD and that included breakfast.  It was pretty new and sparsely furnished, but very clean.  The shocker was in the morning when I found out there was no hairdryer in the room.  Oh well, it is Thailand, so I made do.  Then when we ordered a cab, a tuk tuk showed up.  It was a 20 minute ride to the church in hot, humid weather with the wind whipping though my hair.  I have not included one picture of me in Roi-Et for a very good reason! haha

Now we are in Chiang Mai, (Erin, you might remember Mina who  spoke English very well and like she was 20)  This is what she was doing during general conference!
And like little 18 month-old every where, this little one knew exactly what to do with Sister Johnson's ipad.

Bangkok North Zone Conference.
and Bangkok East Zone
Sister's Belnap and Carrillo.  Fresh faced beautiful missionaries!
Elder Roberts served in the office with us.  It was good to see him!
Elder Luker and Elder Grange
Elder Hartung who will be leaving next week.
In Saphan Sung at Bangkok East Zone Conference we had Khow Soi for lunch.  Get your bowl, noodles, curry soup with some chicken part in it, onions, hot peppers, lime and wonderful crispy things to put on top.  It was really quite good, but very spicy hot.  I did not expect to like it, but I did.  I used just a little soup and left the chicken part hidden inside the bag :).  It is just better that way.

To sum it all up we flew to Chiang Mai, Roi-Et and Udon for Zone Conferences, had Bangkok East, West and North at Chaengwattna and in Saphan Sung.  We ate Thai, Vietnamese, Pizza and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.  Tim Tam Slams were enjoyed in at least 2 zones.  It is good to be home!
